About TeamGantt

TeamGantt is a project management software company that specializes in simple and intuitive gantt chart tools for project planning and collaboration. Founded in 2009 by John Correlli and Nathan Gilmore in Baltimore, Maryland, TeamGantt was created with a single purpose in mind: to bring calm and clarity to teams who work together.

We’re on a mission to end project chaos

At TeamGantt, we believe visibility is critical to project success. If you can’t see the big picture, you don’t know where you stand, and your project could end up in a state of confusion.

That’s why TeamGantt was one of the first software companies to put collaborative gantt charts at the heart of project planning and management. We set out to make gantt charts easy for anyone to use—no tech-savvy or PM skills required.

TeamGantt works for teams of any size in any industry, including construction, engineering, software development, marketing, and manufacturing. Whether your project is big or small, our flexible workflows make sure the whole team is on the same page and engaged in the plan.

The story behind TeamGantt

TeamGantt was originally founded in 2009 by John Correlli and Nathan Gilmore under the name Groundbreaking Designs LLC.

At the time, John and Nathan were both developing software for a large roofing contractor in Baltimore, Maryland. They searched high and low for a good way to schedule and collaborate on projects online but couldn't find a solution that did both well. They decided to tackle the challenge of building their own gantt chart software on nights and weekends.

After seeing their software’s potential, John and Nathan released an early version for other companies to try. It turns out, they weren’t the only ones who needed a better way to manage projects!

The first public release of TeamGantt officially launched in November 2010, and John and Nathan had their first customer within a few hours. TeamGantt quickly took off, attracting big-name customers like Twitter, Expedia, and Turner Broadcasting in just the first year.

After the successful launch of TeamGantt, Groundbreaking Designs LLC rebranded to match its flagship product. Now, our company and software platform are both known as TeamGantt.

We’re a small company doing big things

TeamGantt has grown remarkably since those early side-project days. Today, more than 1 million people across 120 countries have used TeamGantt to plan and execute projects. And our software is one of the highest-rated project management tools on G2 Crowd.

100% bootstrapped—and proud of it

At TeamGantt, we’ve never taken a dime of venture capital. That’s because we answer to our customers—not Silicon Valley investors.

The way we see it, if we build a product that’s worth your time and money, we’re doing things right. And so far, you’ve shown TeamGantt a ton of love.
