Baselines Now Supported

Ever plan a project, fall behind, and wonder, “How did we get off track?” With this latest update, we’ve got you covered! TeamGantt now supports project baselines. What is a baseline? A baseline is a quick snapshot of the project at a given point in time. With our latest update, you can now create as many baseline sets as you need. To create a new set, it’s rather simple: Open the project (or projects), click Menu, then Baselines, and click Create New Baseline Set.

This will save a snapshot of the project (tasks and their start/end dates) that can then be viewed simply by clicking the checkbox in the baseline list.

Load multiple baseline sets to be displayed together to see how well your planning and execution are. Learn from past experiences and you’re on your way to better, more efficient project scheduling and project management.

Baselines are a great tool for the project manager looking to take things to the next level.

This is a great tool and one that I use in my work as a consultant for a cloud application focused business consulting firm. I would love to be able to add hours to each task. In my line of work, I am generally managing 3 or 4 accounts and often have multiple projects (“groups” in team gantt speak) for each account, and tasks for each group. Therefore I may have 3 days to complete multiple tasks, but it would be helpful to clearly indicate whether each task is a 3 hour task or a 12 hour task.

    Thoughts?
    [Am i missing something obvious?]
    Cheers

Jon, thanks for the compliments! Unfortunately we do not yet support hourly based scheduling. Currently, the minimum increment of time at the moment is 1 day.

John, Is there a possibility that hourly based scheduling is supported in the near future?

Pieter, it is something that we may get to down the road. However, we do not have any immediate plans for it at the moment.

Let's hear your thoughts!
